New Project Ideas

Today, on our blog we will add some new projects. All of them are dedicated to embroider on linens, and can gave you many interesting ideas.
Thank you very much, to those who have send us their projects. They are beautiful!

This project we received from Bobbie Berry. Thank you Bobbie!

Bobbie used our "Art Nouveau Double 2-letters Monograms" and show us two ways of how to use the double monogram....both as a monogram and as a border. It is very interesting Idea.

To make a same project you will need:
- Art Nouveau Double 2-letters Monograms
- Guest Towels

The author of this project is also Bobbie Berry. She adorned the place-mats with designs from Mono-Dream Set. On the photo you'll see that before embroidering, Bobbie has printed the template of chosen design, found the right place to embroider, and only then she start to embroider that design.

More information of How to Position Designs you can find in our help topic.

To make a same project you will need:
- Mono-Dream set or Mono-Dream Font & Frames
- Oatmeal Table Linens

This is a very interesting project along with instructions was send to us by Judy Symalla. Today we publish the text we received from an author:

"I am so excited to share with you what I did with the Water Lily design set that I purchased from you. I right away knew I wanted to make a table topper featuring the lilies that would be perfect for a cabin on a lake or any table for that matter.
I purchased a fine quality ready made napkin to use for my embroidering.
I printed the motifs from the design pack that I wanted to use at approximately their actual size on printer paper.
By laying the printed motifs on the napkin I was able to have an approximate idea of what I wanted my finished project to look like."

"I resized some of the lilies to make them different sizes.
I made my flowers yellow and white because that is what we have here in the midwest.
I used a periwinkle thread for the second thread on the dragonflies instead of the gray.
I had to rehoop several times to get all the lilies and dragonflies stitched on the napkin.
The whole family loves the results."

To make a same project you will need:
- Water Lilies Set
- Oatmeal Table Linens

New Embroidery Fonts for Festive Occasions

We're excited to offer 2 new embroidery fonts, designed especially for Wedding ceremonies, and other festive occasions. One of the alphas is modern, and one - in antique style.

This new alphabet is in Medieval style. It's designed for 4x4 hoops, and comes in 3 sizes. It's ideal to stitch on small gifts, handkerchiefs and various elegant items that ask for a touch of antique luxury, to complete their looks.
The letters are in satin stitch, on background of gentle running stitch flowers. These letters are perfect for stitching 1-letter initials ->

Swirly Initials Font

This modern-style initials font is awesome for personalizing wedding items, like hankies and ring bearer pillows. It's also great for "new baby" stuff, including baby blankets and totes.
Each letter sits on an elegant swirly background, and looks complete on it's own. Perfect for 1-letter initials. The whole font can be seen here ->

Which stabilizer to pick, when stitching on small, or hard-to-hoop items? Personally, I prefer to use one of these 2 types:
1. For items that can be later washed - Water Soluble fabric;
2. In other cases - Peel-N-Stick backing. This stabilizer is now available in additional pack sizes.

Arbour-Style Birthday Greetings

This gorgeous and smartly fulfilled project was kindly contributed to our gallery by Pamela Denton. Pamela, thank you!!!

As you may see, Pamela used a couple of embroidery designs from Rose Heaven collection, along with lettering and stylish outer frame design, to make two stylish greeting cards.

There are two interesting issues about these cards, besides the fact that they're just tastefully made:

1. The card base consists of paper.

2. The designs and lettering are applied over, as applique, and therefore they stand out and look extremely dimensional.

Here are a few words directly from the author, describing the process:

First, I stitch the flower or other design on a layer of synthetic fabric. I use mostly "crystal organza" and WSF (water soluble film). I then wash dry and press the design before burning around the outline with a fine tipped soldering iron. For these cards, I digitized a trellis, which again was stitched and treated in the same way as the flower design. I burnt in and around the trellis holes and stuck this background onto the card, and then stuck the flower design on top, giving a 3D effect. I have used a number of the ROSE HEAVEN designs for cards, as they are particularly suitable for using in this way.

NOTE: A well ventilated room is essential when using a soldering iron on fabrics.

We hope that you like these cards like we do :o) Also, be sure to send your projects over, and take advantage of our "Projects Club".
